This is a lesser-known brand than many others, and it has earned the fierce loyalty and luxurious love of many loyal cigar smokers. It has been part of Havana's offerings since the late 19th century, although the exact origins are disputed. Whatever the truth of the matter, one thing is clear - the cigars he produces today are of the highest quality and deserve more recognition. Some things from history are known: Juan Lopez Diaz was a Spaniard who followed many of his contemporaries to seek fortune in Cuba. The registration of his tobacco brand was confirmed in 1876, although 1870 is considered the date by which Habanos SA calculates the anniversary of its founding. Since then, La Flor de Juan López has produced medium- to full-strength cigars, all hand-rolled using Tripa Larga (long-fill tobacco) from the famous Vuelta Abajo region.
